World Schools debate · India

ISDS selection preparation for serious Indian debaters.

Aureus provides independent, high-intensity World Schools training for students pursuing ISDS and other national selection pathways, with coaches who understand championship-level case construction, rebuttal and round strategy.

Designed for

For debaters who want selection-standard feedback before the room matters.

  • Indian students preparing for ISDS selection stages or national training pathways
  • World Schools debaters seeking one-to-one technical development
  • Speakers who perform well locally but need exposure to international judging standards
  • Candidates facing an imminent selection round, camp or major tournament

The local brief

Selection rewards adaptability, not a memorised speech.

National selection environments test more than fluency. Students must build useful cases quickly, compare impacts, answer live opposition and contribute consistently across roles and motions. Aureus diagnostics recreate those decisions under pressure.

The programme is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Indian Schools Debating Society. Official eligibility, dates and selection rules remain with ISDS; Aureus focuses on the debater’s transferable performance.

What is included

World-level coaching applied to the selection brief.

01

Selection diagnostic

A judged round or speech review identifies the highest-value technical, strategic and communication priorities.

02

Case construction and analysis

Principled mechanisms, stakeholder analysis, comparative impact and efficient preparation across unfamiliar motions.

03

Rebuttal and extension

Students learn to identify the round’s live issues, answer precisely and add material that changes the comparison.

04

Role and round simulation

Timed prep, full speeches, reply strategy and detailed written or verbal debrief under selection-like pressure.

How it works

Benchmark the speaker, then train the decisions.

1

Submit the selection brief

We review the official stage, format, dates, role experience and any available recordings or adjudication.

2

Run a diagnostic

The student debates or prepares live so the coach can see real habits rather than a self-description.

3

Train the decisive skills

Sessions isolate the technical and strategic changes most likely to improve selection performance.

4

Simulate and debrief

Full rounds or speeches test whether the new habits survive time pressure and unfamiliar material.
